The Los Angeles
Kings Can Win Because…
The Sharks have hit a wall. All season long, this has been a very streaky team and now they’re in the midst of one of their downturns. After piecing together a six-game winning streak in the early part of March, the Sharks have now dropped five of eight. Some of those losses have been pretty ugly (and costly for your NHL picks), like a 4-3 loss at home to Winnipeg as a -300 favorite last Thursday and a similar loss to at home to the lousy Florida Panthers on March 18th.
Two of San Jose’s three wins in their last eight have come against Edmonton. In other words, the Sharks are reeling right now. The Kings have won 15 of 19 and should be able to take advantage.
The San Jose
Sharks Can Win Because…
They dominate this series when at home. The Sharks have taken eight of the last nine meetings between the teams in the Shark Tank, which bodes well for them getting back on track on Thursday night. It will help their cause that the Kings are in a back-to-back situation and could be worn down.
San Jose has had some ugly losses recently but this is a team that plays to the level of their competition. They sometimes play half asleep when facing weak teams but they surely get up for the big boys. They’re 12-3 in their last 15 against teams above .500. There’s a good chance they improve on that stat on Thursday.
Outlook & Pick
Keep in mind that the Kings are in a back-to-back situation here but I still like them for my sports picks. The price looks right. You get them as a sizable road dog, they’re the team that’s playing better and they’ve won four of the last five meetings. Take them with your picks.
