NHL Western Conference Finals Game 5
The Ducks and Blackhawks resume their Western Conference Finals series on Monday. The Game 5 opening puck drop at the Honda Center in Anaheim is slated for 9:05 PM ET. According to the NHL betting odds at Wagerweb, Anaheim is a -135 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.0. The series is tied at 2-2 following a thrilling 5-4 overtime win by the Blackhawks in Game 4 at the United Center in Chicago. The Blackhawks have won three of four at Anaheim this season, and those games went 2-0-2 under the total.

Series Recap
These teams have alternated wins during the first four games of the series. The Ducks took the series opener 4-1 and came away with a 2-1 victory in Game 3 at Chicago. The Blackhawks two wins in the series have come in overtime thrillers. Chicago won Game 2 at Anaheim 3-2 in three overtimes, and their 5-4 win in Game 4 at Chicago took two extra sessions. In both Blackhawks wins, Anaheim was able to rally from two goal deficits only to fall short in overtime.

Both goaltenders have played extremely well in this series and certainly faced a lot of rubber in doing so. Cory Crawford of Chicago has compiled a stellar .934 save percentage in these Western Conference Finals, and made an average of 41.5 saves per game. Frederik Andersen of the Ducks has an equally impressive .936 save percentage, and made an average of 36.8 saves per game.

Special Teams
Despite this series being very physical, both teams have displayed good discipline. There have been just a combined 26 power play opportunities in the first four games, and two of those were overtime marathons. Chicago has gone 3-for-17 (17.6%) with the man advantage. Anaheim is just 1-for-9 (11.1%) with its power play chances in the series. Whichever team can be the most successful on the power play going forward will go a long way in determining who will win the series.

NHL Money Line Betting System
Go against any home team that’s -100 to -150 on the money line, playing in the second half of the season, averages 2.85 or more goals per game, and is coming off a game in which both teams scored four goals or more. By fading the home team in that exact situation, you would’ve gone 78-44 (63.9%) since 1996. Considering this betting angle supports a money line underdog, that winning percentage of 63.9% is even more impressive, and most definitely provides us with a superb wagering value for your NHL pick.
