There are five games in the NHL on Friday and we’ve got all of the action fully covered. We’ve got three games previewed below and we’ve taken individual looks at each affair along with our top NHL picks.

New York Rangers vs. Carolina Hurricanes

The Rangers are a small road favorite in Carolina on Friday and they look like they might be worth adding to your NHL picks. Yes, they’ve lost three straight but they’ve played three pretty good teams in Philadelphia, Boston and Toronto. Carolina should be much more manageable. They’re a weaker foe as they’ve dropped five of six and are having a tough time scoring goals. The ‘Canes have scored just 11 goals in their last six, which figures to be a problem going up against Henrik Lundqvist and the defense-minded Rangers.

Pick: Rangers -116 at Pinnacle

Buffalo Sabres vs. Florida Panthers

The Panthers should have Roberto Luongo in net on Friday after making the shocking acquisition at the trade deadline. I expect the Panthers to play a solid defensive game around him in his debut. The Sabres haven’t done much scoring on the road as they’ve compiled eight goals in their last eight away games. On top of that, they will be in a back-to-back situation after playing in Tampa Bay on Thursday night. Take the under.

Pick: Under 5.5 at Bodog

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Anaheim Ducks

This could very well be a Stanley Cup final preview as these are the top two teams in each conference. The Penguins are a road dog in this spot, which is sure to attract a lot of attention for those looking for value. However, they’ll be in a tough spot playing on the west coast in a back-to-back situation after playing in San Jose on Thursday night. I expect a low-scoring game because this will have a playoff-like feel to it. Both teams should be pretty tight given the competition and given that they both played the night before.

Pick: Under 5.5 at Bodog
