Ottawa Senators @ Boston Bruins
We’ve got a very low total on the board when the Sens visit the Bruins on Monday night. The Sens have been a good over bet all season long, so it’s a tad surprising to see them face a total of five. The average score in their games has been 6.07 goals. The over is 4-0 in Sens games when they are on the road with a total of five this season and 8-3 in their last 11 in that scenario. I’ll add the over to my NHL picks here.
Pick: Over 5 at Bovada
The Maple Leafs are a massive favorite on Friday night but the lines definitely do not reflect how the two teams have been playing recently. The Sabres have actually won three of four, which includes wins over Boston, Phoenix and Winnipeg – all teams that are better than Toronto. As for the Leafs, they continue to stumble as they’ve now lost seven of nine.
Since the start of November, the Sabres, who currently have the fewest points in the NHL, are 8-11-2 while the Leafs are 8-12-5. That means the Leafs have actually been worse than the worst team in the NHL over that span. On top of that, the Sabres are 2-1 against the Leafs this season. That’s what makes it hard to lay -165 on the NHL odds here. Take the Sabres with your sports picks.

Calgary Flames @ Edmonton Oilers
When the Flames and Oilers meet, they tend to play high-scoring affairs, so I’ll be looking to add the over in this spot. Five of their last six games have seen at least five goals, so we figure to be close to the total – if not over it – on Friday night.
Both teams are top-five in goals allowed this season as the Oilers have allowed the most while the Flames have allowed the fifth-most. With two shoddy goaltenders on each side, we’ll look for them to lead us to an over.
Pick: Over 5.5 at Bodog
