The Friday card in the NHL features just five games. However, there are plenty of playoff implications. Let's sift through the odds and find some money.

NHL Betting: Friday Picks

The Ottawa Senators and New Jersey Devils are vying for berths in the East while the St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets are jockeying for spots in the West. Nine of the 10 teams playing on Friday have lots on the line.

Here’s a look at our hockey picks for Friday:

Record: 117-138 (-1443)

Ottawa Senators at New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils have now lost eight straight and their playoff hopes are fading by the second. While they scored four goals in their latest loss, they have actually tallied just 10 goals in their last six games.

These teams tend to play low-scoring matchups as they’ve combined for just eight goals in two meetings this season. I’ll take a shot with the under on Friday.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at Bovada

Detroit Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks

The Detroit Red Wings have had a tough time scoring in this series as the Chicago Blackhawks have held them to just three goals in three meetings this season. On top of that, they’ve had a tough time lighting the lamp of late too. The Red Wings have tallied just 11 goals in their last seven games and haven’t scored more than three goals in any of their last 13 games.

I think the under makes sense here with your NHL picks as the Red Wings aren’t scoring much and the Blackhawks have allowed just three goals in their last three.

Pick: Under 5 at Bodog For your NHL betting.

Phoenix Coyotes at Calgary Flames

The Coyotes are playing well these days as they have won four of five. Calgary continues to be a train wreck as they followed up a win over Colorado with a 4-1 home loss to Vancouver.

I’m not interested in laying the chalk with Phoenix as -150 against the NHL odds is a bit steep for a team that has won just five of their 19 road games. However, I’ll take a shot with the puck line as Phoenix’s last six wins have all been by more than one goal.

NHL Pick: Coyotes -1.5 +205 at Bookmaker
