The NCAA basketball tournament has stolen the spotlight, but we have managed to find two games on the NHL odds boards for Friday that offer sufficient value, which will help lead you to a winning night.

Friday’s Value Picks In The NHL

Penguins at Islanders

The Pittsburgh Penguins (23-8-0) will haul a ten-game winning streak with them to the Big Apple tonight where they will face the New York Islanders (13-14-3) at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale.

Several online sportsbooks including Bookmaker have pegged the visitors as -155 money line favorites on the NHL odds boards. The Penguins have won 21 of the last 28 head to head meetings against the Islanders.

The total is coming in at 6 goals, with even money on the over, which may seem a bit on the high side, but these two teams have eclipsed the number in five of their last six overall meetings.

As part of this current winning streak, the Penguins have won their last four games played on the road. They have feasted on teams with losing records, going a stellar 45-15 in their last 60 games in that situation. Pittsburgh has gone over the posted total in five of their last seven games played on the road.

The Islanders are just 4-11 in the last 15 games played on their home ice and 2-7 in the last nine games played on a Friday. They have had little success against the Atlantic Division, going just 30-82 in their last 112 games. New York has gone over the posted total in four of their last five games played at home.

The Pick

The Penguins are in a zone right now and as bettors we area looking for teams in this spot, which brings plenty of value to our NHL Picks tonight.

Back the Penguins and enjoy watching them push their winning streak to 11 games.

Red Wings at Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks (22-3-4) will welcome in the Detroit Red Wings (14-11-5) to the Honda Center in Southern California for a battle between two Western Conference adversaries; but where is the value in this game?

Most online shops have listed the Ducks as heavy favorites on the NHL odds boards, posting a price of -165 on the money line. Anaheim has beaten the Red Wings in five of their last seven contests on their home ice. Additionally, the home team is 38-14-1 in the last 53 meetings between these two clubs.

The total has been set to 5 ½ goals, with +105 being paid on the over. However, the final scored has stayed under the posted total in 9 of the last 12 meetings.

The Red Wings are a dismal 8-20 in their last 28 games played away from Joe Louis Arena and 7-19 in the 26 when facing a team with a record above the .500 mark. Detroit has stayed under the total in five of six playing on a full day of rest in between games.

The Ducks are an impressive 21-6 in the last 27 games played at home and 20-6 in their last 26 overall. Anaheim has eclipsed the total in five of their last eight games played at the Honda Center, but they are under in 9 of 12 played on a Friday.

The Pick

The Red Wings are a different team that we have grown accustom to seeing in recent years, while the Ducks have hit a stride that has made them a perennial contender in the Western Conference this season.

Backing the Ducks on their home ice is the right play to make in this matchup.
