It’s Friday, otherwise known as Rebecca Black’s favorite day of the week. We’ve got five games on tap in the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks and their quest to keep their perfect record intact.

NHL Betting: Friday Picks

We’ve got that game covered in an individual preview so here’s our look at the rest of the card and the NHL odds for those games.

Record: 74-87 (-935)

Winnipeg Jets at Florida Panthers

Second verse, same as the first. I took the Winnipeg Jets on the road in Florida earlier this week and they let me down but I’m still going to take them again. Florida is just straight trash. They lost 7-1 in Washington last night and starting goaltender Jacob Markstrom took the loss after making zero saves. He was pulled after giving up two goals on two shots. Meanwhile, Winnipeg got the job done in Tampa Bay and I expect them to play much better this time around as they finish up and odd Florida-Tampa-Florida road trip.

Hockey Pick: Jets -107 at Pinnacle

Edmonton Oilers at Nashville Predators

I don’t see any other way to play this game than the under. I’m not interested in laying -180 with the Predators, who have lost three straight and seven of nine. Meanwhile, the Oilers aren’t worth your money at any price as they have lost four straight and seven of nine as well.

Nashville is the lowest scoring team in the Western Conference while Edmonton has had all sorts of problems putting the puck in the net too. They were shutout in Detroit on Thursday night and have now scored two or less in 12 of their last 15. Take the under for this NHL pick.

Ottawa Senators at New York Rangers

We don’t have a line up for this game yet but under is the play that makes sense. The Rangers should be a sizable favorite in this game on the moneyline but I’m not interested as they have been a dicey bet all season long. Ottawa is bad but the Rangers score so little they are hard to trust. Case and point: their 2-1 overtime squeaker last night in Long Island. They needed a late third period goal to tie and then breathed a sigh of relief after scoring the overtime winner.

These are the two lowest-scoring teams in the East, so under is what makes sense here.

Hockey Pick: Under 5 at Bovada
