Columbus Blue Jackets at Edmonton Oilers
The Blue Jackets are worth the price of admission here as they face an Oilers team that has just one win in their last four games. The Blue Jackets are in the midst of what could turn out to be the franchise’s best month ever as they’ve registered a point in 13 of 14 games.
These teams are about even and while the Blue Jackets aren’t great on the road, the Oilers are just 5-9 at home this season. I’ll take a shot with the Blue Jackets on my NHL picks.
NHL Picks: Blue Jackets +120 at Bovada
Colorado Avalanche at Vancouver Canucks
The Avalanche are a complete disaster on the road as their two road wins are the fewest in the NHL. They’ve won just twice in their 15 away games, which includes a 4-3 loss in Calgary on Wednesday night.
Now they find themselves in a back-to-back situation on the road as they head to Vancouver on Thursday. The Avs have lost seven of eight and will have to face a Canucks team that’s won five straight. I’m not up for laying all of that juice on the NHL odds but the Canucks puck line seems like a fair play in this spot.
NHL Picks: Canucks -1.5 +147 at Pinnacle
Los Angeles Kings at St. Louis Blues
The Blues are really struggling right now and as usual, they seem to go as their goaltenders do. Jake Allen had been hot for them but he’s cooled off recently, giving up six goals on his last 26 shots. He was pulled in his latest outing.
Overall, the Blues have lost three of four and they don’t fare well against Jonathan Quick. The Kings goaltender has won seven of his last eight starts against them while posting a 1.09 GAA.
