NHL Betting: Saturday Picks
Record: 111-124 (-506)
Calgary Flames @ Vancouver Canucks
I bet against the Calgary Flames last night and was burned, but I’m willing to take a shot again. The San Jose Sharks ended up beating the Flames last night but I took the Sharks on the puck line, which they didn’t cover. Vancouver is a massive favorite on the NHL odds on Saturday and I’ll lay the goal and a half.
The Flames are in a tight spot in a back-to-back on the road and it’s also their third road game in four nights. The Canucks have had a light week and should be much fresher on the ice.
Pick: Canucks -1.5 +111 at Pinnacle
Edmonton Oilers @ Los Angeles Kings
It might seem like a bit of a long shot – and it could very well turn out to be a loss – but I see the Edmonton Oilers as offering some good value on Saturday afternoon. Yes, the Kings are the better team and have been all season but Los Angeles has been a bit spotty of late. They’ve won just three of their last seven and have dropped two of their last three at home.
The Oilers are coming off a loss but had won seven straight before that. The Kings should definitely be favored here but considering only six points separate the teams in the standings, I think Edmonton is a good bet to add to my NHL picks solely based on value.

Philadelphia Flyers @ Winnipeg Jets
I see little reason to bet the Jets in this spot considering they’ve lost five straight and are playing some of their worst hockey of the season. On the flip side, Philadelphia has won four straight and is making a late season playoff push.
Saturday’s contest will be the fifth for the Jets in eight days in four cities. While they’ve been off since Thursday, that type of travel could wear down a team. I’ll take a shot with the Flyers as a road dog.
