NHL Top Plays- Monday, March 19
Buffalo at Montreal
The Sabres find themselves bringing up the rear in the East with 24 points in their first 29 games. After posting just one win in their last seven games they have to go on the road this Tuesday night where they are 5-9-2 overall and 0-3-2 in their last five road games.
Montreal has won its last five games to remain just two points behind Pittsburgh for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. It has 42 points as a result of an overall record of 19-5-4 that includes a 9-3-2 record on its home ice. The total has gone OVER in eight of its last nine games.
Buffalo has struggled this season on both ends of the ice with a goals-per-game average of 2.5 and a goals-against-average of 3.1. At the opposite side of the spectrum, the Canadiens are fifth in the NHL in scoring (3.1) and sixth in goals allowed (2.4). BetOline’s current money line on Montreal as a home favorite is rather high at 178 but it is well worth the risk.

Washington at Pittsburgh
The Capitals continue to flounder their way through this season with a 2-4 record in their last six games in which they were outscored 22-12. They are now 12-15-1 overall and a woeful 4-8-1 on the road. Washington is ranked 25th in the NHL in goals allowed; giving-up an average of 3.0 a game.
Pittsburgh struggled with consistency at the beginning of the season, but it is firing on all cylinders now with a nine-game winning streak heading into this matchup. This run has the Penguins on top of the Eastern Conference standings with 44 points. They have gotten it done behind an offense that leads the league in scoring with 3.5 goals a game.
Washington has been opened as a prohibitive 190 road underdog with the total set at six. Given the current form of both teams, this matchup provides the perfect opportunity for a parlay on Pittsburgh as a 210 home favorite with the OVER on the total line. The Penguins might be able to light the lamp more than six times on their own in this one.
Boston at Winnipeg
The third team in the mix at the top of the East is Boston with 41 points on the year. It is coming off a tough 2-1 loss to the Penguins this past Sunday as a 114 road underdog, but overall it remains a healthy 9-3-2 on the road this season. The total has stayed UNDER in five of its last six games.
Winnipeg continues to hold down the top spot in the Southeast Division with 32 points. It is 15-12-2 overall but just .500 at home this season with a record of 6-6. The Jets have gone 6-3-1 in their last 10 games and coming off back-to-back victories on the road over Toronto and Ottawa.
The Bruins have already won the first two meetings this season, but each game ended in a tight one-goal spread. In fact, five of the last eight matchups have been decided by one goal. You can expect another hard-fought battle between these two on Tuesday night, but this time take advantage of Winnipeg opening as a 115 underdog with a play on the home team for this NHL pick.
