The NHL regular season is coming down the home stretch and we’ve got just seven more days of action before the playoffs. That means we’ll see plenty of jockeying for position this week with urgency at a high.

On Monday, we’ve got five games to handicap and we’ve got four of them covered. Check the Coyotes-Red Wings preview in its own article and below we’ve got three more free picks for you.

Record: 136-155 (-770)

Winnipeg Jets vs. Buffalo Sabres

Winnipeg is always tough to add to my NHL picks when they are on the road (they have lost five straight away games) but if they have any heart inside, they should show up on Monday with a good effort. At -110 on the NHL odds, that’s worth a shot in my books.

The Jets are 5-0-1 in their last six overall and have already topped the Sabres twice this season, outscoring them 6-2. Buffalo has nothing on the line and are just 10-12 at home this season, so Winnipeg is worth a shot here.

NHL Pick: Jets -109 at Pinnacle

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators have been engaging in a number of low-scoring games recently, so I’m a bit surprised that they’re in a game with a total of 5.5 on Monday. Each of their last seven games have seen less than 5.5 goals.

Craig Anderson is expected to be in net for Ottawa and he’s played well recently. He has a 2.01 GAA since returning from injury while Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to counter, and he has a 1.44 GAA against Ottawa this season. Also, the Pens top three scoring weapons (Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and James Neal) should be out Monday. I’ll take a shot on the under.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at Bodog

Anaheim Ducks vs. Edmonton Oilers

The Ducks and Oilers will square off for a second straight night in Edmonton and given how Monday’s game went, I like the under on Tuesday.

Neither team has been scoring much as the Oilers had scored just 11 goals in their seven previous games (before Sunday) and the Ducks had scored seven in their previous five. This total should likely be at five instead of 5.5. That being the case, I’ll take a flier on the under.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at Bovada
