The Philadelphia Flyers had won seven of eight, but they’ve since lost two straight. They have a good opportunity to get back on track on Tuesday as long as they don’t look past the Sabres, who have been playing better of late.

We give you live NHL odds, right here!

The Philadelphia Flyers can win because…

The Sabres don’t score much. Sure, the Flyers have dropped two straight because their defense has let them down but that won’t be a problem against Buffalo, who has scored the fewest goals in the NHL. They’ve tallied just 77 scores. To put that in perspective, they are the only team in the league with less than 100.

Even with back-to-back losses, the Flyers are still 10-4-1 in their last 15 games. They’re playing well and are fighting for a playoff berth. The Sabres have no motivation.

The Buffalo Sabres can win because…

They’ve won two of three and are being very scrappy these days. Sure, the Sabres are still the worst team in the NHL but they’ve been better since the start of December compared to the two months prior to that. Buffalo had started the year with just six wins in their first 30 games. However, they are 7-4-3 in their last 14 games, which is more than respectable. Goaltender Ryan Miller hasn’t allowed more than three goals in a game since November 19th and has allowed just 2.0 goals per game in his last 15 games outings.

The Flyers are not receiving the same type of goaltending as they’ve allowed 10 goals in their last two games. Buffalo could be a good choice for your NHL picks as they’ve been competitive and are being overlooked here.

Outlook & Pick

Buffalo has gone 6-0-2 in their last eight at home while giving up two goals or fewer each time. They’ve also won two straight home meetings against Philadelphia, so they are not to be overlooked here.

Instead, I’ll take the under with my sports picks as Miller is playing well but the Sabres don’t score much themselves.
