So the Philadelphia Flyers have forced a deciding Game 7. However, they don’t do so well at Madison Square Garden. Can they finally exorcise some demons, cash in as a big road dog and move onto the next round?

The Philadelphia Flyers Can Win Because…
They’re big guns got going in Game 6. The Flyers have been treading water throughout this series, waiting for captain Claude Giroux to wake up and spark the attack. That finally happened in Game 6 as Giroux not only scored for a second straight game but also collected two assists. Wayne Simmonds also netted a hat trick. It was bad enough that the Rangers ended up pulling Henrik Lundqvist.

If the Flyers top line can play with that type of fire again, they’ll win Game 7.

The New York Rangers Can Win Because…
They’re back at home where they’ve won 11 of the last 12 meetings. The Flyers can’t seem to break through at MSG with any type of consistency – even though they won there earlier in the series. That was back in Game 2 and really, the Rangers fell asleep in that one after blowing a 2-0 lead. The Rangers do a great job of dictating the pace of play at home and that hampers the Flyers. Although the Flyers scored five goals in Game 6, they’ve only scored 10 goals in the other five games. The Rangers know how to stymie the Flyers and they’ll do it once more.

Outlook & Pick
It’s a bit of an odd situation as these teams played last night and have a quick turnaround. However, I can’t really bet against the Rangers in this spot. They still dominate the Flyers – particularly at home – and should take care of business. I’ll take them with my NHL picks here as they’ve been a step ahead of the Flyers all series long.
