The question people want to know is whether this was a change in momentum or whether this was just a one-off situation. They are a big dog on the NHL odds as they visit Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

The Philadelphia Flyers Can Win Because…
They finally got ontrack. On Monday, the Flyers tied a season high with seven goals as they stomped the Islanders. More importantly, Captain, Claude Giroux got going as he notched two goals and an assist. He is the team’s catalyst and when he’s working, the rest of the team is scoring quite well.
The Flyers should be able to carry that momentum into Wednesday’s game against a Penguins team they dominated in the postseason last year. The game will be broadcast nationally on NBC Sports Network and they’ll be looking to make a statement that Monday was no fluke.
The Pittsburgh Penguins Can Win Because…
The Flyers can’t be trusted. Sure, Philadelphia had a seven-goal outburst on Monday but the last time they scored seven goals in a game was on January 26th. They followed that up with three straight losses and just four goals in those games.
The Flyers will be finishing up a six-game road trip in Pittsburgh and they could be a little fatigued. This whole road trip has taken place over nine days so their sixth game in that span could take a lot out of them. The Pens come into this game winners of three straight. They should make that four on Wednesday.
Outlook & Pick
The Flyers have not been consistent this season, so they are tough to back in this spot. However, they are coming off a good effort so we don’t want to get busted laying -160 with the Pens. Take the Penguins on the puck line for your hockey picks. Yes, we do have to lay an extra goal but if they win, they should be able to cover the spread and if they lose, we won’t get burned with the juice.
