The Anaheim Ducks Can
They have yet to get their offense going. The Ducks were the highest scoring team in the NHL this season (3.21 goals per game) and so far, they have just three goals in two games. Considering the weapons they have, it’s unlikely that the Kings can keep them down. They outshot the Kings 37-17 in Game 2 and if they keep up that pace, they are going to breakthrough.
The Ducks won all three visits to the Staples Center this season, so they’re comfortable playing there. Take them with your NHL picks and expect them to get on the board here.
The Los Angeles
Kings Can Win Because…
They are red-hot right now. The Kings have now won six straight playoff games and are looking every bit the Stanley Cup contender most people thought they could be. Goaltender Jonathan Quick is looking like a Conn Smythe candidate once again as he’s allowed just eight goals in his last six games.
That edge in net is the difference. The Ducks are losing confidence in Jonas Hiller, who was part of the blown Game 1 and allowed two goals on 16 shots in Game 2. Momentum is with the Kings and they should continue to roll.
Outlook & Pick
I took the Kings in the first two games of this series and why go against them? They look unbeatable right now as Quick is standing on his head while forward Anze Kopitar and Marian Gaborik are on fire. As for the Ducks and their “explosive” offense, they’ve been muzzled. They don’t have any answers for the Kings right now, so I’ll lay the juice and look for Los Angeles to win once again.
