The Anaheim Ducks were 20 seconds away from taking a 3-0 series lead. However, the Calgary Flames did what they’ve done so well this season: come from behind. Now that the series is down to 2-1, can the Flames tie it up and cash on the NHL betting lines on Friday?

The Anaheim Ducks Can Win Because…
They’ve dominated this series. Yes, they allowed a late goal to blow Game 3 but really, they were in control most of the way through before running out of gas at the end. They held leads of 2-1 and 3-2, and if they are in the same position again in Game 4, look for them to do a better job of sealing the deal.

Obviously the crowd will be a big factor for the Flames in Game 4 but it’s nothing the Ducks haven’t seen yet. NHL odds makers know that they went into Winnipeg and won Games 3 and 4 when their raucous crowd tore the roof off of the building, so this shouldn’t be anything the Ducks haven’t seen yet.

The good news is the Ducks continue to find a way through Karri Ramo as they again got to at least three goals, which now makes it three times in this series that they’ve done that. They only had 21 shots, which was down from the 34 in Game 2 and the 35 in Game 1. Look for them to fire more pucks on the Ramo and get more goals as a result. That’s why they’re the better choice for your NHL picks here.

The Calgary Flames Can Win Because…
The crowd is going to fire them up again. It was pretty obviously that Calgary was a different team in Game 3 compared to Games 1 and 2. They simply didn’t have much fire in their bellies in Anaheim but when they came home, they were reenergized. They scored the first goal of a game for the first time in this series and they kept fighting and fighting, even though they could have packed it in a few times. Their younger roster played with confidence, which is not something we saw in Anaheim. And maybe most importantly, they found the back of the net four times against Frederik Andersen (or maybe five times, if you count the disallowed goal), which is a huge change. They only had one goal in Anaheim.

If the Flames can play with the same type of fire again in Game 4, they’ll have a great chance to get the win.

Outlook
The Flames will be fired up and their offense will continue to score, which is why I like the over. And I expect an even better offensive effort from the Ducks as they were outhit in Game 3 (for the first time in this series) and they didn’t have a sizable edge in shots (for the first time). They should be money to get to at least three goals and if the Flames do their part, we should see an over in Game 4.
