The Anaheim Ducks have taken a commanding 3-0 series lead in their first-round series with the Winnipeg Jets after – yet again – ripping out the hearts of the Jets with a come-from-behind win. Can the Jets at least cash on the NHL betting lines once in this series or will it be a complete sweep?
The Anaheim Ducks Can Win Because…
They’ve won every game in this series already. While that might seem very obvious, the truth is that they believe they are going to win each and every time they set foot on the ice and why not. They won the easy way in Game 1, then they’ve come from behind even when the Jets brought their best effort in Games 2 and 3. They’ve won at home and they’ve won on the road. They’ve won low-scoring games and high-scoring games. Whatever way Winnipeg wants to play and wherever they want to play the game, the result ends up the same.
The biggest issue for Winnipeg continues to be goaltender Ondrej Pavelec. While he’s played well at times in this series, he’s still giving up way too many goals. He’s now lost seven of his eight career starts against Anaheim, giving up more than 3.5 goals per game. Simply put, the Ducks know their way through Pavelec and they’ll do it again in Game 4.

The Winnipeg Jets Can Win Because…
This is going to be their best punch. Everything is on the line here for Winnipeg as their season comes to an end if they can find a way to win. That’s a tough pill to swallow for Jets fans, who were so charged up to see their team in the playoffs. However, it’s the stark reality and they’ll have to find a way.
The good news for Winnipeg is that they’ve come very close in the last two games. It’s not as if they’re getting blown off the map; they held one-goal leads late in the third period both in Game 2 and in Game 3. If they can find a way to tighten up at the back end and hold those leads, they are more than capable of winning Game 4.
The one thing we do know here is the Jets are going to play loose like they’ve got nothing to lose. The fans will give them a supercharge again and the energy will be great to start the game. If the Jets can just find a way to finish, they’ll get on the board.
We know that Anaheim is bound to find their way through Pavelec as they almost always do. They’ve scored at least two goals in every game in this series while averaging 3.67 per outing. That being the case, look for them to do their part in helping us get the over.
Meanwhile, Winnipeg should come out flying again and that will lead to plenty of pucks being thrown at Frederik Andersen. Although he’s played well, the Jets really need this and should be able to help the Ducks out with the over. Look for another high-scoring game here, so go over with your NHL picks.
