The NHL odds are out as the L.A. Kings (27-12-1; 14-28 ATS; 11-17 O/U) will head on the road to the Honda Center on Sunday evening for a Western Conference matchup versus the Anaheim Ducks (19-17-5; 19-24 ATS; 13-21 O/U). The Ducks were part of a three-player trade on Saturday with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Anaheim sent forward Carl Hagelin to the Pens in exchange for David Perron and defensemen Adam Cledening. Each team is two points out of a Wild Card spot in their respective conferences heading into play on Saturday.

Kopitar, Kings Nearing Extension
Anze Kopitar put together a four-point effort on Monday night, helping the L.A. Kings emerge with a 4-2 win in a hard fought battle over the Detroit Wings. Kopitar had a hand in all four of L.A.’s goals, racking up three assists to go along with his power play goal. Kopitar is reportedly very close to signing an eight-year $80 million deal that would keep him in a Kings’ uniform for the remainder of his career. The 28-year-old center has 12 goals and 23 assists (+17) in 42 games this season. The Kings’ puck possession style of play has helped them rank 2nd in the NHL in goals against at just 2.1 per game. L.A. has allowed more than two goals just one time in their last six games.

Ducks Find Scoring Touch vs. Stars
The Anaheim Ducks won their second consecutive game on Friday night, defeating the high-scoring Dallas Stars by the score of 4-2. Anaheim jumped on the Stars early, shredding the Stars defense for four first period goals. While Anaheim has struggled to score goals all season long, ranking last in the NHL in goals per game at 2.0, the Ducks have scored four goals or more in four of their last six games. Anaheim ranks 1st in the NHL with a penalty kill percentage of 89.4% and 6th in the NHL in goals against (2.3 per game).
