The New Jersey Devils are 5-0-1 to the 'Over' in the last 6 games, and tonight they face a team that has been productive on offense. Will their streak carry on after the Canucks drop by in Jersey?

Vancouver Canucks vs New Jersey Devils

We have been riding NJ games Over the total and this is another chance to do so tonight. The New Jersey Devils have been labelled as being a trap team and a defense only squad for two decades and that is why New Jersey totals have consistently been lower lined games at 5 most of the time like they are here as they face the Vancouver Canucks.

However, the Devils recently got one of their leading goal scorers back from injury with Mike Cammalleri returning last week and in 6 games with him back in the lineup, New Jersey is 5-0-1 to the Over with final scores of 5-4, 5-4, 4-3, 3-2, 4-3 and 5-4 in the six games. Cammalleri is on fire offensively with 14 points in his last eight games. They also recently got Taylor Hall back in the lineup prior to last Thursday's game in Chicago to provide even more offense for the Devils and they are 2-0 to the Over since he's been back. The Devils are finding more pace and attack in their game and increased effectiveness offensively with him back but it's also led to a bit of a lack of awareness defensively as New Jersey has given up monster shot totals in recent games surrendering 41, 31, 33, 49, 29, 33 and 42 shots on goal to the opposition in their last six games.

New Jersey has allowed 3+ goals in eight straight games and neither Cory Schneider nor Keith Kindaid in net have been able to keep the puck out of the net not so much because of weak goaltending but because of a lack of the strong defensive structure we have come to expect from the Devils, they have been struggling to keep pucks out of their own net. Vancouver has scored 3+ goals in four of their last six games and have a winning 5-4 Over the total record on the highway this season. Expect the New Jersey Over streak to live on for another night.
