Pivotal Game 4 between Caps/Isles on Tuesday
The New York Islanders will host the Washington Capitals in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal playoff series on Tuesday at 7:35 PM ET. The Islanders currently hold a 2-1 series lead by virtue of their 2-1 overtime home win on Sunday. This will be the eighth meeting in all this season between these Metropolitan Division rivals. The Islanders have come out on top in four of those seven occasions, and includes going a perfect 3-0 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. According to the NHL betting odds at BetOnline, the Islanders are a -135 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.5.

Biggest Game of the Season thus far for Caps
The Washington Capitals will try to avoid falling into a 3-1 series deficit on Tuesday. Braden Holtby was spectacular in Game 3 by stopping 40 of 42 shots on goal by the Islanders, and gave his team an excellent opportunity to come away with a win. However, that wasn’t the case, and they’ll need to quickly put that loss behind them. The Capitals have gone a very respectable 23-20 against the money line on the road this season, and that includes 8-4 in their last twelve on enemy ice.

Isles look to seize control of the Series
The New York Islanders will look to carry the momentum over from an emotional Game 3 victory, and take a commanding 3-1 series lead with a win in Game 4. The Islanders have gone a very good 26-16 against the money line on home ice this season. They’ve also been dominant versus Metropolitan Division opponents during the 2014-2015 campaign, going a superb 23-10 in those games. Jaroslav Halak has been solid in goal for the Islanders in the first three games of the series, compiling a sparkling .929 save percentage. Halak has gone 23-12 at home and 19-7 versus Metropolitan Division opponents this season.

Final Analysis
These teams have seen eight of their last ten meetings be decided by one goal. It wouldn’t shock me at all to see another one goal game with high drama on Tuesday night. I’m going to give the slightest of leans toward the Capitals for one of my NHL picks. I just think the deciding factor will be the high degree of urgency and desperation that will be displayed by the visitors.

NHL Pick: Washington +115 on the money line over the Islanders at BetOnline.
