Florida Panthers vs. New York Islanders
Who would have ever imagined at the beginning of the season that the New York Islanders would be a -205 favorite on the NHL odds in any situation this season? As it turns out, they are heading to the playoffs and playing great hockey en route. They are 5-0-2 in their last seven and are 4-0-1 in their last five at home.
Florida is again trending downward as they’ve lost three of four while being outscored 10-3 in their last two games. They are 6-13 on the road this season and will have to deal with Evgeni Nabokov, who has a 7-1-2 lifetime record against them with a 1.38 GAA. I see the Isles having the upper hand here but with the juice being so high, I’ll take a shot on the puck line.

Minnesota Wild vs. Edmonton Oilers
I think some people will find it tough to add either side to their NHL picks here but for me, I see some value with the Wild. These two teams are about equal right now as the Oilers have lost five straight and scored just four goals in the process. Minnesota has lost six of eight and will be playing their third game in four nights.
However, Minnesota has already defeated the Oilers twice this season and they typically dominate this series. It’s not a lock by any means but I see the Wild as having the better chance to win here but they are the underdogs.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Winnipeg Jets
I know unders have been very good to bettors recently but I like the over in this game. It’s a bit of a risk as Tampa Bay’s offense has gone cold but their history against Ondrej Pavelec is why I like this play. Pavelec has a 4.08 GAA against the Lightning in his last four starts while losing three of them.
As for the Jets, their offense should be able to contribute to the total as the Lightning have given up 15 goals in their last three games.
NHL Pick: Over 5.5 at Bodog
