NHL Betting Sunday
Entering Monday, both teams are on the outside looking in and in desperate need of the two points to get themselves back in business.

The Phoenix Coyotes can win because…
Detroit is in a big funk. The Red Wings have now lost five of their last six and what’s particularly disconcerting is the fact that they need points in all of these games because they’re fighting for their playoff lives, but they aren’t showing the necessary desperation. Since March 28th, the Red Wings have just three wins in 11 games and included in that stretch is a loss to Phoenix. This is simply a team that’s become discombobulated at the absolute worst time.
The Red Wings have scored just 10 goals in their last six games. Phoenix tends to be pretty stingy, so beating a toothless Red Wings team is definitely a good possibility on the NHL odds.
The Detroit Red Wings can win because…
Phoenix is playing pretty poorly right now. The Coyotes are coming off a win on Saturday in Chicago but the Blackhawks didn’t really show up for that contest. Prior to that, the Coyotes had lost three straight and four of five.
The Coyotes aren’t doing much on offense these days as they’ve tallied nine goals in their last six games. Detroit is one of the better defensive home teams in the NHL as they allow just 2.43 goals per game at Joe Louis Arena. While their offense is also struggling, they’ll have the home-ice advantage and might only need a goal or two to get the win.

Outlook & Pick
These teams are mirror images of each other. Both teams aren’t scoring or winning much at a time when they need to do the most – not the least. For my NHL picks, the side seems to be a toss-up but I like the under on the total given how the two teams are performing right now.
