Maple Leafs have locked the worst record in the league & are the worst team according to my power rankings. Let's review the NHL odds as N.Y. can use this game to get closer to the 2nd playoff spot.

The goaltenders for this one remains a mystery as we see early money come in on the 'over' in the NHL odds board, which is a typical reaction when the Islanders are undecided about who will be in net for them and the Maple Leafs have back-up Garret Sparks starting. If you don't know much about the rookie, Sparks has not faired well in his young career. He has allowed three goals only once in his last six starts but looked poor in his last game against Buffalo giving up three goals on just 27 shots and has a .898 save percentage over his last two games. Typically you want your goaltender to be around 92%. At 6'2, 200 he brings decent size and isn't afraid to challenge shooters.

Islanders Preview
Islanders goaltender, Jaroslov Halak, was removed with 4:22 left to play against the Penguins and is day to day. No word on his status but first goaltender off the ice in today's morning skate will tell you who the net minder will be. I expect it to be back-up Thomas Greiss who is more than capable. Greiss is 18-6-3 with a outstanding 2.21 goals against average and save percentage of .930.

His numbers in his last ten games are even better where Griess is 7-0-1 with a 2.24 goals against and a .925 save percentage. His numbers are equally as good on the road where he has a 8-3 record with a 2.30 GA and a .930 save percentage.

Maple Leafs' Sneak Peek
There is going to be some movement because of injuries for the Leafs; Matt Hunwick is out for the rest of the season with a sports hernia giving Frank Corrado a chance to play quality minutes on defense. Corrado has terrific puck handling skills and has the potential to play the point on the power play. Martin Marincin will be moved to the top defensive pairing with Morgan Reilly.

Head Coach, Jack Capuano, is going to evaluate the organization the rest of the way. Most would think that this would mean allot of 'overs' but the American Hockey League Toronto Marlies are the best team in the league so any of these kids that came from the AHL are coming from a winning atmosphere. I expect a great effort from the new additions because they are essentially playing to be noticed and chosen as one of the NHL picks.

General Overview
This hasn't been the best spot for New York as they are 5-12 in their last 17 games against the Atlantic. The 'under' is 7-2-1 in the Islanders last 10 games couple that with the 'under' being 18-8-5 in their last 31 games against the Metro division. I'm going with the 'under' 5.5 in this one even though you have to give a little juice.
