The Vancouver Canucks return to action tonight after a 5-day Christmas sabbatical to take on the Anaheim Ducks. Join us in reading our NHL consultant’s preview article on this game which includes a betting system that’s gone 67.7% since 1996.

Sunday Night NHL in the Pacific
The Anaheim Ducks will entertain the Vancouver Canucks in a Pacific Division battle tonight at 8:05 PM ET. According to the NHL odds at Bookmaker, the Ducks are a -140 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.5. These teams have met twice this season and the road team came away a winner on each occasion. The Ducks swept the 5-game regular season series versus Vancouver a season ago, and outscored them in the process of doing so by a wide cumulative margin of 24-6.

Long Holiday Break for the Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks were the beneficiaries of an extended Christmas break. This will be the first time they’ll take the ice since hosting the Arizona Coyotes on December 22nd. Vancouver has gone a stellar 11-7 against the money line on the road this season. However, they’ve gone a rather disappointing 17-32 the past two seasons versus an opponent with a winning record. Ryan Miller is scheduled to be in goal for the Canucks today. Miller has gone 8-2 in 10-starts this season versus Pacific Division opponents, and compiled a solid .910 save percentage in those outings.

No Rest for the Ducks
The Ducks are coming off a road game at Arizona last night, and get right back on the ice today for their 2nd game in a row versus a Pacific Division opponent. The good news for the Ducks is that they’ve gone 14-6 during the past 2-seasons when playing a game with no rest. The Ducks have also seen 11 of their 12 home games this season go under the number with a posted total of 5.5.

NHL Money Line Betting System
The Anaheim Ducks are coming off a 2-1 Pacific Division road loss at Arizona last night. The Vancouver Canucks were a 7-1 winner over Arizona in their previous game. The combination of those two results creates a highly profitable NHL money line angle. I’ll take advantage of that strong handicapping tool when making one of my NHL picks for Sunday.

Any home team (Ducks) that’s -100 to -150 on the money line, and they’re coming off a divisional 1-goal loss, versus an opponent (Canucks) who’s coming off a win against a team from within their own division, has seen the home team go 109-52 (67.7%) since 1996.
