The Vancouver Canucks are again feeling the playoff heat. The No. 3 seed in the West has – for a second straight year – lost both of its home games to start their first-round series.

NHL Betting: Canucks vs Sharks Picks

The San Jose Sharks have the Canucks number and there’s little reason to believe anything should change.

The Vancouver Canucks can win because…

This is still a veteran team that has faced adversity many times. If there’s one good thing you can say for the Canucks it’s that they’ve disappointed in the playoffs many times and have skewered in the media as a result, yet they still continue to fight. People making their NHL picks should be aware that this team won’t quit.

The positives from Games 1 and 2 is that Roberto Luongo has played relatively well and given his team a chance to win. Now if they can just get their offense going, this team might be able to get on the board in Game 3.

The San Jose Sharks can win because…

They’re the better team. The Sharks have now beat the Canucks five straight times and for good measure, crushed their spirit in Game 2. The Canucks looked liked they be able to tie the series up as they held a 2-1 lead with one minute to go in Game 2. However, Patrick Marleau tied things up and former Canuck Raffi Torres scored the overtime winner.

The Canucks are down 0-2, have all the pressure on their backs and now have to steal two games in San Jose just to even the series. The Canucks won’t be favored on the NHL odds in either game as they were 11-13 on the road this year while the Sharks were one of the league’s best home teams. Their 17-2-5 record was the best in the West.

This series is pretty much over for all intents and purposes. There’s no reason to bet Vancouver here.

Outlook & Pick

Under has to be the choice for your NHL Picks Either team can win in this spot but the under has looked great in both games – hardly being threatened.

These two teams have now played five times this season and we haven’t seen more than five goals in any game. Take the under.

Pick: Under 5 at Bet365
