The Coyotes will hope to be arising when they return to Phoenix and take on the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night. Where should bettors lean with their NHL picks in this battle?

Despite a couple of dodgy results your Humble Handicapper is way back on track with his last NHL pick. I not only picked the correct winner but also the exact correct score. Now let's see if a stopped clock can tell the right time twice with y latest NHL tips.

Enough with the time keepers….WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

Looking at the season so far between the two sides it's been 100% Coyotes. However that's hardly surprising as they have only met once this term and that was a 4-2 victory for Phoenix. Another Phoenix victory is offered up at -110 and a repeat of that score is at +2000.

A handicapper for all seasons

Looking at the season over all though Vancouver have the advantage as they are on 34 points compared to Phoenix's 30. Also looking at the overall stats Phoenix are 13 – 13 – 4 while Vancouver are 14 – 9 – 6. Looking at just those stats would suggest a clear Vancouver victory at NHL odds of -115.

Where Vancouver lag far behind Phoenix is in their recent history. The Canucks are currently on a streak of one win, while the Coyotes are on a four game streak. However what is hugely significant is the fact that the Coyotes’ streak is a losing streak. You should probably have another look at the NHL odds above on a Vancouver victory.

Vancouver's last win was last Tuesday where they scored three goals in the second period and then held on 3-2 victory over St Louis. And if any one player on the ice garnered a great deal of momentum from that it is Vancouver ‘keeper Cory Schneider, who made 32 saves and snapped his own three-game losing streak.

With form like that

I do think that this game is going to be a low scoring affair and you can get under 5.5 goals at -175 or certainly under 4.5 goals at +160.

Looking at the last 10 between the two sides it's reasonably close as the Coyotes are on 4-5-1 and the Canucks on 4-4-2.

Speaking of streaks, which we weren't.

It's worth noting that the Coyotes will be looking for a fourth consecutive victory over the Vancouver Canucks in this game.

Also, home certainly is where the points are for Phoenix as they've won six of eight at home (and the less said about their away record the better).

Howling at the moon

Despite the fact that the Coyotes are on such a poor run, have lost four straight games and only scored two goals in those last four games I think streaks snap some time, and I think Thursday is that time.

Prediction: Coyotes win 3-1 available at +1500 with betway.
