The Philadelphia Flyers are quickly sinking. Turns out their early-November growth-spurt was fleeting and now they’re once again trending downward. After dropping their fourth game in five nights with a loss in Chicago on Wednesday, they now have a quick turnaround as the Montreal Canadiens come to town on Thursday night.

The Montreal Canadiens can win because…

They’re going to be very focused coming off a tough loss. The Habs five-game winning streak was snapped on Tuesday when they lost 6-0 at home to the Los Angeles Kings. The Habs have been playing great hockey as they were 9-0-1 before that loss and they should be able to get back on track against a bumbling Flyers team on Thursday.

The Habs are happy to play on the road as they are 8-5 away from home. They’ll have a huge edge in net here as the Flyers have given up at least five goals in three straight games.

The Philadelphia Flyers can win because…

They’ve had Carey Price’s number in recent meetings. Although the Flyers lost the first matchup between the teams earlier this year (4-1), they scored 10 goals on Price while winning both meetings with the Habs last season. Prior to this season, Price had lost seven of his last nine meetings with Philadelphia while giving up 30 goals in the process (3.33 per game).

If they can get to Price once again, the Flyers will have a chance to cash for your NHL picks tonight

Outlook & Pick

Montreal had a blip on the radar on Tuesday. However, because of that loss, we’re getting a better price on the NHL odds. Prior to that game, they had allowed just 20 goals in their last 10 games. That figures to be a challenge for a Flyers team that has had plenty of problems scoring (ranked second-last in the NHL in goals scored). Add the Canadiens to your NHL picks.

Pick: Canadiens -125 at Pinnacle
