The Jackets are Blue!
The Blue Jackets recent miseries continued last night in Boston as they dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the Bruins. The loss marked the 7th in 8-games for Columbus, who now finds themselves in sole possession of last place in the newly aligned 8-team Metropolitan Division. The Jackets are also a dismal 9-24 in their last 33-games when playing with no rest. On a more positive note, Columbus has gone 9-3 in their last 12-games versus an opponent with a losing record on the money line for the season.
No Habs No!
The Montreal Canadians are catching a lot of heat in their local press these days. The Habs have dropped 5 of their last 6-games, and are currently 8th overall in the Eastern Conference, and 5th in the 8-team Atlantic Division. They last played on Tuesday and suffered a 2-1 over shootout loss at home versus the Tampa Bay Lightning. Carey Price turned in another excellent effort in goal for Montreal. Price stopped 44 of 45 Tampa Bay shots on goal giving his team an opportunity to win a game in which they were badly outplayed. Price has a solid 2.12 GAA and an excellent .933 save percentage in 16 starts this season. The Canadians have seen just 1 of their last 9 road games go over the total.
