Two popular preseason picks to win the Eastern Conference this season will go head to head on the ice tonight. One seems to be off track. The other seems to be poised to make a run at the Stanley Cup.

But will it be the New York Rangers or Boston Bruins that beat the NHL odds tonight. Find out our NHL pick below for this matchup between these two Eastern Conference heavyweights.

Bruins Meet Rangers at Madison Square Garden

The Boston Bruins (2-0-0) are set to face the New York Rangers (0-2-0) tonight for the second time in a four-day span in what is anticipated to be a matchup between two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference this season.

The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:35 PM EST, but this time the scene will be at Madison Square Garden, where New York is listed as -125 on the money line over Boston. If you are looking to make a play on the final score’s total, your selection to go over or under will be five goals.

Boston will attempt to move to 3-0 on the year, while at the same time keeping the Rangers winless by pushing their record to 0-3. If that happens, it will be the first time in 14 seasons the Rangers started 0-3 with no points after their first three games of a new hockey campaign. Last season the Rangers started 0-3, but managed to earn two points in those games.

New York was a popular sports pick prior to the season to win the Eastern Conference, but has looked anything but sharp in their first two games.

The Bruins, while beating the Rangers on Saturday night, have struggled against the Rangers in the past. Boston has won just two of its last seven games overall against the Rangers and 3 of 14 when facing them at Madison Square Garden.

However, dating back to last season, the Bruins have won seven of eight games played on the road and four of five versus Atlantic Division foes.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are 11-3 in their last 14 games played on two days of rest and 9-4 in their last 13 against a team with a winning percentage of .600 or better.

Not all is good however, as the Rangers are just 1-4 in their last five games played on a Wednesday and 0-5 versus Eastern Conference opponents.

The Bruins are over in 23 of their last 34 games played on the road, while the Rangers under in 7 of their last 11 played on a Wednesday.

The Pick

New York should have the momentum in this one playing at home and the -125 money line is a nice price to back the Rangers for your hockey picks, as they will earn their first win of the season tonight with a big win over the Bruins.
