The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Boston Bruins at the Consol Energy Center tonight. Find out where our tipsters are saying you should place your money!

According to NHL odds the Penguins are a -135 money line home favorite and the posted total is 5.5. These teams have seen 6 of their last 7 meetings go under the total. This will be a rematch of the Eastern Conference Finals from a season ago in which the Bruins swept the Penguins in 4 straight games.

Boston Strong on the Road

The road has been kind to the Bruins in the early going as they’ve won all 4 away games to start the season. Boston was absolutely dominating in those 4 contests outscoring the opposition by a combined 15-5. The bad news for the Bruins is they come off a surprising 4-3 home loss in their last game on Saturday at the hands of the New Jersey Devils. The Bruins led the game 3-1 after the 1st period only to see the Devils score 2-goals in the final minute of the 3rd period to complete the shocking comeback. Despite the loss Jerome Ignilia had his best game in a Bruins uniform scoring a goal and adding 2 assists. Boston defensemen Torey Krug continued his hot start to the season by scoring his 4th of the season. The Bruins are an extremely profitable 24-9 in their last 33-games when playing on 3 or more days rest.

Pens Back on Track

After starting the season 7-1 the Penguins endured a rare 3-game losing streak. They were able to stop the bleeding at home on Monday night with a 3-1 win over Carolina. Sydney Crosby continued his torrid scoring pace to start the season recoding 2-assists in the win. Crosby has accumulated 20-points in the Penguins first 12-games. He’s on pace for a 137-point season. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 21 of 22 Carolina shots on goal to improve his record to 8-2 on the year.

Final Analysis

This will be the Penguins 4th game in the last 6 days. Contrarily the Bruins will be playing on 3-days of rest, and will look to atone for their embarrassing home loss to the Devils in their previous game. The Bruins have been stellar on the road, are better rested, and have the Penguins number. My NHL pick here goes to the road underdog.
