The Pittsburgh Penguins will look to rebound after a Game 1 loss on their home ice to the Boston Bruins.

It's Eastern Conference Finals! And these two teams will collide on the ice once again Monday evening at the Consol Energy Center. Let's break down the match-up and odds to produce a winning NHL PLayoff Pick!

Face off in this crucial Game 2 matchup will come at 8:00 pm EST and can be seen live on national television with broadcast coverage provided by the NBC Sports Network.

Oddsmakers at bet365 have heavily favored the home team in this one, listing the Penguins as -185 on the money line, while offering a nice return of +165 on the Bruins.

Supporters of Pittsburgh also have the option of giving up -1½ goals, with an attractive payback of +170 on the NHL odds. Taking the +1 ½ with Boston comes at a heavy price of -200.

The games total is coming in at 5 ½ goals with a price of -125 on the under. The last four head-to-head meetings between these adversaries have stayed under the posted total (4-0-0).

While Boston stole Game 1, they have struggled against the Penguins, losing six in a row before the playoff victory.  However, the Bruins are 6-1 in their last seven overall and 5-2 in their last seven Eastern Conference Finals games.

Meanwhile, Pittsburgh will look to regain its tough competiveness on their home ice, as they still own an impressive 42-13 record in their last 55 games played at the Energy Consol Center. Coming into Game 1, the Penguins had won five straight in the Eastern Conference Finals before the Bruins ended their streak.

The road team is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings when these two squads clash on the ice.

In Game 1 both the Bruins and Penguins failed to produce on the Power Play, with each team having four chances apiece.

Prediction

The Bruins did a great job in Game 1 controlling the dynamic duo of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin and as a result won on the road to take a 1-0 lead in the series. It’s doubtful they will have the same success in Game 2.

For Pittsburgh, they must not enter a panic state, but rather play with confidence as they have done all throughout the regular season and the first two rounds of the playoffs. If they are able to compose themselves and even up the series before heading to Boston, they will be in good shape. If not, trailing 2-0 with Games 3 and 4 on the road could spell big-time trouble.
