The Montreal Canadiens have once again jumped out ahead of the Boston Bruins and lead the series 2-1. The Bruins have been fighting uphill all series long, trailing 3-1 in every game. Can they finally dominate a game and cash on the NHL odds?

The Boston Bruins Can Win Because…
This will be their best out. It has to be. Boston has been thoroughly outplayed for three games now and they’re lucky that this series is 2-1. They’re still the better team but they have to start showing it on the ice. Game 4 figures to be the time that they do it. It’s now or never.

The Bruins just need to get the first goal in a game. They’ve been playing from behind all series and that takes its toll on a team. Although they scored a lot of goals this year, this is still a team that plays better protecting leads than they do coming from behind. They need to find a way to get the first goal and get control of the game.

The Montreal Canadiens Can Win Because…
They’ll continue to do more of the same. The Habs have held 3-1 leads in every single game and it’s not an accident. They know how to beat the Bruins. They’ve now done it in eight of the last 10 meetings. Their speed and craftiness is a problem for Boston and the Bruins muscle doesn’t really bother them. On top of that, Carey Price has outplayed Tuukka Rask in the matchup of netminders. Rask has an .883 save percentage in this series while Price is at .920.

The Habs just aren’t making that many mistakes. Had they not blown their 3-1 lead with 10 minutes to go in Game 2, this series would be 3-0. They just need to keep doing more of the same.

Outlook & Pick
Boston probably wins Game 4 but it’s not looking really good for them. They look quite frustrated right now. The Habs are outplaying them. While I think they’re still a good choice for your NHL picks, I’ll go with the over once more. While the total has been five in every game, we’ve seen combined scores of seven, eight and six in the first three games.
