The train has come off the tracks for the Los Angeles Kings as they’ve lost six of their last seven games. It doesn’t get any easier for them on Thursday as the Boston Bruins are visiting, who are the second-best team in the Eastern Conference.

The Boston Bruins can win because…

The Kings have been a bad team over the last couple of weeks. They have just one win in their last seven games and are failing miserably at both ends of the ice. In that span, they are scoring just 1.43 per game but are allowing 2.86. That’s not going to get it done.

The Bruins have been far more consistent as they’ve won 10 of their last 15 games. They’re the perfect candidate to keep the slumping Kings in a downward trend.

The Los Angeles Kings can win because…

They’ve got Jonathan Quick back. The Kings got their ace back just in time and hopefully he can help stop some of this bleeding. Quick has been a Vezina Trophy-like performer this season with a 2.19 GAA and a .910 save percentage. Although backups Ben Scrivens and Martin Jones played well for a while, the Kings really missed their rock.

Boston is not a great road team as they are 10-9-0 on the year. They’ve won just one of their last five away games. However, the Kings are 14-5-3 at home this season and with Quick between the pipes, is the better of the two sides for your NHL picks.

Outlook & Pick

The NHL odds here look good for the Bruins. They’ve been the better of the two teams recently and they’re getting +110. That’s enough to convince me to go against a Kings team that has been miserable at both ends of the ice – and in in the win column – over the last couple of weeks.

Pick: Bruins +110 at Pinnacle
