Free NHL picks for the Game 4 playoff matchup between LA Kings and the St. Louis Blues. Where do we believe that the best value lies for our NHL picks?

The Los Angeles Kings are finally on the board. They scored first once again in Game 3 but this they managed to hang on for a 1-0 lead.

It’s fairly clear that both teams are executing very well on the defensive end and both goaltenders are standing tall. While first goal will again be critical in Game 4, find out why we are looking to the total for our sports picks tonight.

The St. Louis Blues can win because…

The Kings offense has done nothing in this series. When you take a look at a snapshot of the series, the Kings have scored a total of three goals in three games, never scoring more than once in any game. That’s not going to work in the long term.

The Blues are 9-5 when on the road with a total of five and are 4-1 in their last five against teams with a winning record. They edged out the Kings in the first two games and they can surely scrap out another win in Game 4.

The Los Angeles Kings can win because…

They finally didn’t blow a game. The Kings had a 1-0 lead in Game 2 and blew it, and they had a good chance to win overtime of Game 1 until Jonathan Quick blew it. When the Kings execute properly and don’t give away easy goals, they are still one of the toughest teams to beat.

The Kings were happy to see Quick stand on his head in Game 3 as he led the team to a 1-0 win. Some were wondering about his confidence after allowing a couple of shaky goals in Games 1 and 2, but he looked every bit the Vezina Trophy candidate we’ve known over the last two years.

People making their NHL picks know that with him back in form and the Kings at home, they are more than likely to tie up the series at two games apiece.

Outlook & Pick

The Blues look like an enticing dog on the NHL odds but the Kings play very well in this role. They are 20-5 on the year when playing at home with a total of five.

Stick with the under as it’s cashed three straight times in this series. We should see another one come through as both goaltenders are playing very well.

Pick: Under 4 at Ladbrokes
