Monster Win for the Hawks
Chicago came up with a huge 3-2 overtime road win in Friday night’s Game 5 to seize control of the series. Jonathan Toews provided the game winner by scoring on a breakaway goal 7:36 into the first overtime period. Corey Crawford was once again solid in goal stopping 27 of 29 St. Louis shots. Crawford has posted a superb .927 save percentage in this series. The Hawks return home for Game 6 where they’re 27-14 this season, and 56-21 in their last 77 overall at the United Center. Chicago is also a dominant 20-6 in their last 26 at home versus St. Louis. The Blackhawks are 9-1 this season at home versus opponents that allow 2.4 or less goals per game.

Déjà Vu for the Blues
St. Louis is on the same plight in this season’s playoffs that occurred last year, and those aren’t fond memories for Blues fans. In last year’s playoffs the Blues jumped out to a 2-0 series lead at home versus the Los Angeles Kings, and then were eliminated by losing the next 4-games in a row. This season they jumped out to a 2-0 lead at home at home once again, and then have seen Chicago take the next 3-games to cast them into the brink of elimination. Granted, the Blackhawks haven’t completed a repeat of what the Kings accomplished a season ago, but you can’t help but think there’s a lingering feeling of here we go again for St. Louis. Despite losing two close games at Chicago in Games 3 and 4, the Blues can take solace in knowing they’re a more than respectable 24-19 on the road this season. If the Blues are to stave off elimination in Game 6 on the road, they will need a superb game from goaltender Ryan Miller. Although Miller has been steady in the series, he hasn’t exactly been great with a decent .911 save percentage.

NHL Betting System
Play against any road team in the 2nd half of the season that allows 2.4 or less goals per game, and they’ve allowed 3-goals or more in each of their previous 2-games. When fading the road team in that exact situation you would be 47-22 (68.1%) versus the money line during the last 5 seasons. Bet Chicago over St. Louis for your Hockey picks!
