The Chicago Blackhawks-Dallas Stars game will be featured on NHL Network on Friday night in what should be an intriguing Western Conference matchup. Find out how we have decided to approach this matchup with our NHL picks tonight.

The Chicago Blackhawks are an impressive 18-4-4 on the season and enter on a four-game winning streak while the Stars have won seven of 10.

Take a look at our NHL Picks: Friday's Picks of the Day for more free plays.

The Chicago Blackhawks can win because…

Dallas is not a great home team. Before adding them to your sports picks, keep in mind that they’ve lost four of five at home and play better away from the American Airlines Center (8-6-0) than at it (4-3-2). The Stars did win their most recent home game (against Anaheim) but they were trailing 2-1 entering the third period. That goes to show you how little of a home-ice advantage they have.

Meanwhile, the Blackhawks are 9-3-1 on the road this season, which stands as the best away record in the NHL.

The Dallas Stars can win because…

They have some momentum right now. Dallas might not be a great home team but they are coming off a confidence-building 6-3 home win over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. They’ve talked about putting forth better efforts at home and they did exactly that by pounding a Ducks team that has the leads the Pacific Division.

The Stars have won seven of their last 10 while averaging 3.4 goals per game. If they can approach that average on Friday, they’ll be worth a look on the NHL odds

Outlook & Pick

The Blackhawks are playing very well right now and the Stars don’t have much of a home-ice advantage. That leads me to add the Blackhawks to my NHL picks. Corey Crawford has won four straight starts against Dallas, posting a 1.49 GAA in the process, and I expect him to play well after getting the night off on Wednesday.

Pick: Blackhawks -136 at Pinnacle
