Blackhawks Can Win Because…
They’ll get back on track. They were their own worst enemy in Game 2 and that’ll change in Game 3. They took their foot off the gas at the end of the second period, allowed the Kings to cut the lead in half with a cheap goal, and then took silly penalties in the third period, which is how the Kings got back into in.
The Blackhawks dominated Game 1 and nearly two periods of Game 2. They’ve still won eight of the last 10 meetings in this series, so look for them to get back to business in Game 3.

Kings Can Win Because…
They figured out the Blackhawks. They couldn’t generate too many opportunities in Game 1 and then they didn’t have much going through most of Game 2. However, the light bulb went on at the end of the second period and they’re not going to look back. They generated four power plays, created tons of odd-man rushes, pressured the Blackhawks defense and finally broke through.
More importantly, Jonathan Quick finally outplayed Corey Crawford. It’s been the other way around in most of the recent meetings but Quick showed why he’s a Conn Smythe trophy winner. The Kings not only stole home-ice advantage but momentum as well. Take them with your NHL picks in Game 3.
Outlook & Pick
The Kings blasted the Blackhawks in the third period of Game 2 but that was mostly due to the Blackhawks self-inflicted wounds. Look for them to clean up those mistakes and get back to dominating this series.
