The Chicago Blackhawks will travel to the SAP Center on Wednesday night for a clash against the red-hot San Jose Sharks. Who will be the NHL pick for the game?

Panarin and Kane Developing Chemistry
The Chicago Blackhawks scored big when they signed 24-year-old winger Artemi Panarin on a two-year contract in the offseason. The Russian youngster leads all rookies in assists (14), points (21), and power play points (5), while playing in a top-6 role for the Blackhawks this season. Panarin and fellow forward Patrick Kane have developed tremendous chemistry in the early going, accounting for 35% of the scoring for Chicago. In a recent interview, Blackhawks’ GM recently shot down any idea that the team was going to trade Kane, who is currently carrying a 17-game point streak. Kane remains the NHL leader in points on the season with 32 (13G, 19A).

Sharks Turn Things Around On Road
The San Jose Sharks will put their six-game win streak on the line against the defending Stanley Cup Champions. The Sharks’ winning streak has catapulted them back into a tie for 1st place in the Pacific Division. They erased a 3-1 third period deficit in their last game against the Blue Jackets, running away with a 5-3 win to complete a perfect six-game road trip. There had been plenty of rumors surrounding the Sharks prior to the win streak, most notably, the threat of an impending Patrick Marleau trade. It will be interesting to see what the franchise decides to do with Marleau, who had three goals and three assists on the road trip.

The Chicago Blackhawks are: 2-7 in their last 9 road games against the NHL odds.

The San Jose Sharks are: 5-0 in their last 5 games following a win & 6-0 in their last 6 overall. 21-6 in their last 27 games playing on 2 days’ rest.

The Blackhawks look like a team still finding their groove right now. Chicago has been inconsistent as of late even with Duncan Keith back in the lineup. San Jose is red-hot right now and Joe Pavelski is proving to be one of the most underrated stars in hockey. Look for the Sharks to get the job done at home as the NHL pick and push their win streak to 7 games.
