NHL Betting Value on Bruins and Flyers Total
The Philadelphia Flyers will entertain the Boston Bruins on Saturday evening at 7:05 PM ET. The theme of this article revolves around the total in this contest. According to the NHL odds at 5Dimes, the current posted total is 5.5. These teams have met once this season, and the Bruins were a 2-1 winner at the TD Garden in Boston.

Bruins Update
The Boston Bruins haven’t seen any of their previous four games go over the total. They’ve allowed just 4-goals combined over their last three games. The Bruins power play has been absolutely horrible on the road this season by going a miserable 4-for-47 (8.5%). Tuukka Rask will get the start in goal tonight for Boston. He’s played very well in his last four starts, compiling a stellar .926 save percentage.

The Skinny on Philly
The Philadelphia Flyers have gone under the total in the last two, and three of their previous four games. They’ve allowed two goals or less in three of the last 4. Unfortunately, they’ve scored just eight goals combined as well during those past four games. Steve Mason is slated to get the start in goal tonight for the Flyers. Mason has been extremely sharp in his last two starts by stopping 37 of 40 shots on goal. He’s been solid at home this season as well, posting a very good .927 save percentage in 13-starts at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

NHL Totals Betting System
The Flyers are coming off two consecutive wins over Ottawa and Washington. Those victories increased their winning percentage to .390 on the season. This sets up an impressive betting system on the total, and I will utilize that handicapping tool to my advantage when making my NHL picks on Saturday.

Any home team with a total of 5.5, coming off two consecutive wins in a row, and has a winning percentage of .300 to .400, has seen that home team go under the total in 111 of 166-games (66.9%) since 1996.

NHL Pick- Bruins and Flyers to go under the total of 5.5 at 5Dimes.
