Friday NHL Odds Report

Let's make sure our NHL picks count this evening since there are only four scheduled games.

New York Islanders vs. Buffalo Sabres

The Islanders have secured their berth in the playoffs, but they haven't been playing the best hockey over the last week or so. They'll be trying to end the regular season on a high note in Buffalo tonight.

Checking over the NHL betting lines, we see New York favored in the -115 range, while the Sabres can be backed at a price of +105. The total here is at 5.5 goals.

Though the Islanders have dropped two straight games, they've still been one of the hottest teams overall over the past month, which is why David Lawrence is adding them to his NHL picks for tonight.

New York has been better on the road (14-6-3) than at home (10-11-3), so it's no shock they're the favorites in this spot. The Sabres, though, have gone a solid 6-4 over their last 10 and will want to put on a good show in their season finale.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Minnesota Wild

With their playoff hopes on the line, the Wild will entertain the Oilers as overwhelming favorites. Minnesota is listed at -223 at 5Dimes, with Edmonton at +203.

The Oilers seemingly checked out a while ago. They've lose three in a row and are 1-9 over their last 10 heading into tonight, making it a difficult ask of anyone to put their hard-earned money on Edmonton.

Conversely, the Wild are trying to hold on to a Western Conference playoff spot, as they're currently the #8 seed, despite being even on 53 points alongside Columbus. Two points are absolutely essential tonight.

We have two different sports picks on this game. David Schwab is picking a 3-1 win for Minnesota at home, while David Lawrence likes the look of the UNDER, considering how both teams have been struggling to score.

Calgary Flames vs. Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks are the biggest favorite of the night for their home game against the Flames. Chicago is at -240 on the NHL odds board and Calgary is available at +220.

Top dogs in the conference all season long, the Blackhawks will try to improve to 9-1-1 over their last 11 while also giving the home fans something to cheer about. On the season Chicago has gone 17-3-3 at home.

The Flames, despite being knocked out of contention a while back, have been able to play some decent hockey lately, going 6-4 over their last 10. However, they have lost two consecutive games ahead of tonight's drop of the puck.

There's a lot of uncertainty in this game. Will Chicago opt to rest some of their best players? Who knows, but in the end Lawrence is selecting the UNDER 5.5 as his best selection, primarily based on the past recent history between these two teams.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Phoenix Coyotes

Finally we've got the Coyotes at home to the Avalanche. Phoenix was unable to get a spot in the playoffs, but they'll still want to close out the season with a victory at home.

The odds, as you'd expect them to be, are in the Coyotes' favor, as they're trading at a price of -160. If you believe the Avalanche are going to show up here in the last game of the regular season, you can nab them at +150.

Beware though. Colorado has gone a horrific 3-16-4 on the road this season, while Phoenix is a respectable 14-8-1 inside their own building.

When it comes to making his NHL picks, Lawrence is continuing the theme of total plays with another UNDER selection. He's banking on Mike Smith and the Coyotes to shut down an Avalanche offense that's #26 in goals scored this season.
