Two NHL Pacific Division rivals will do battle on Monday night when Arizona takes on Vancouver. We’re going to hone in on the total in this game, and all the details will be provided in this informative NHL betting preview article.

Coyote Ugly
The Arizona Coyotes enter tonight having lost 6 of the last 7, 9 of the last 11, and 11 of their last 13-games. Arizona has also seen 4 of the last 5 and 6 of their last 8 go over the total. They’ve allowed 4-goals or more in six of their previous seven games. Arizona is allowing an average of 36.0 shots on goal per game during their last six contests. Mike Smith is slated to be in goal tonight for Arizona. Smith has gone a dismal 5-16 in his 21-starts this season with a subpar .889 save percentage. He’s had trouble stopping the proverbial beach ball in his last 4-starts by posting an awful .856 save percentage.

End of 5-Game Slide
The Vancouver Canucks got off to a terrific 18-8 money line start to the season, and then proceeded to lose their next 5-games in a row. However, they were able to snap that losing streak with a 3-2 home win over the Calgary Flames on Saturday. The Canucks NHL odds have been very profitable versus Pacific Division opponents this season by going 8-3 against the money line. The Canucks are slated to go with Ryan Miller in goal tonight. Miller has really struggled over his last 4-starts by compiling an awful .854 save percentage.

Final Analysis
In a game that will feature two starting goaltenders that have been less than stellar in recent starts, I’m looking for this one to play on the high side of the ledger. I will be using the total in this game as one of my NHL picks on Monday.
