There are only 3-games on the NHL board today, and we’re going to hone in on the Boston/Columbus game as our NHL pick of the day. Our preview article in this contest includes all the pertinent data, and includes a terrific 35-10 money line betting system.

Boston Bruins vs. Columbus Blue Jackets 7:05 PM ET

Recent Series History
The Boston Bruins have absolutely dominated the Columbus Blue Jackets in recent years. Boston has won each of their last 6-meetings versus Columbus, and that includes winning all three clashes a season ago. The Bruins outscored the Blue Jackets in those 3-games by a cumulative score of 9-4. Boston held a huge territorial advantage in those games as well, amassing 106-shots on goal compared to just 74 by Columbus.

Good Record but not Great Value
The Bruins have won the last 2, and 7 of their last 9-games. They’re coming off an impressive 2-0 home win over a very good St. Louis Blues team in their previous game this past Tuesday. The win improved the Bruins to 12-8 against the money line on the season. However, despite that respectable overall record, they’ve made just 0.90 units on the money line, with the majority of their 8-losses coming as a sizable favorite. As a matter of fact, the Bruins have closed as a money line favorite in 18 of their 20-games this season, and that includes each of their first 17 played in the 2014-2015 campaign.

The Columbus Straight-Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets entered this season with very lofty expectations. After all, they qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs a season ago, and gave the Pittsburgh Penguins all they can handle before losing in 6-games during the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Things certainly haven’t gone as planned in the early part of the season for Columbus. They were able to get off to a decent 4-2 start, but since then have lost 10 of their last 12-games, including a 9-game losing streak that began on October 24th, and finally ended with a win at Philadelphia on November 14th. If you’re a NHL bettor that likes to dabble in wagering on individual periods action, then going against the Jackets in the 3rd period has been a profitable play this season. Columbus has been outscored by a wide margin of 26-10 during the final stanzas of their first 18-games.

Final Analysis
As I alluded to earlier, the Bruins are coming off a 2-0 shutout win at home in their previous game, and they enter tonight with a .600 money line win percentage. This sets up an extremely profitable money line betting system that I will lean on heavily when making my NHL pick in this game.

Any team (Boston) playing in the first half of the season, coming off a home shutout win during their previous game, and has a winning percentage of .510 to .600, has gone 35-10 (77.8%) on the NHL odds moneyline over the past 5-seasons.
