Panthers/Islanders Game Three Betting Preview
The Panthers and Islanders will play Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series on Sunday. The opening face-off at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn is slated for 8:05 PM ET. The series is tied 1-1 as a result of these teams splitting two games at the BB&T Arena in Sunrise, Florida. Counting the playoffs, these clubs have met five times this season, and Florida won on three of those occasions. Current NHL betting odds indicates that the Islanders are a -125 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.0.

Series Recap
The Islanders accomplished what they set out to do, splitting the first two games of this series on enemy ice. They were beneficiaries of some poor goaltending by Florida’s Roberto Luongo in the series opener, overcame three separate one goal deficits, and came away with a 5-4 win. They weren’t so fortunate in Game 2, losing 3-1, despite holding a 42-31 shots on goal advantage. Goaltender Thomas Greiss started both games for the Islanders, and was rock solid, evidenced by a stellar .921 save percentage during those outings. The Islanders power play has gone 1-for-5 so far in this series. Sunday will mark a first ever playoff home game in Brooklyn for the Islanders franchise.

As I just alluded to, Roberto Luongo was very shaky in the series opener, and then rebounded with a magnificent performance in Game 2. Luongo turned away 41 of 42 Islanders shots on goal, and was a key component in the win. Florida has gone 1-for-4 on the power play in the first two games. Florida went 1-1 in their two games this season at the Barclays Center. Florida has gone a very respectable 22-19 in away games during the 2015-2016 NHL regular season campaign.

Final Take and Pick
This has a look of a series that will go the entire seven games. Florida finished the regular season by winning four of their final five road games. The Islanders dropped three of its last four on home ice. I like the road team to come out on top tonight, and one of my Sunday NHL picks will be indicative of that prediction.
