Join us in reading this insightful preview on this contest culminated with a NHL totals betting system which has won 66.5% of the time since 1996, and that includes 11 of 12 occasions this season.

Monday Night NHL in Beantown
The Boston Bruins will host the Detroit Red Wings on Monday with the opening faceoff set for 7:05 PM ET. According to the NHL betting odds at Bookmaker, Boston is a -130 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.0. These teams have split their two meetings this season, and both games were played in Detroit. Boston defeated Detroit in the 2014 NHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series in 5-games.

Probable Starting Goaltenders
The Red Wings will in all likelihood go with Jimmy Howard in goal tonight. Howard has seen just 2 of his 8-starts on the road go over the total this season, and he compiled a superb .938 save percentage in those contests. Howard has been sizzling hot during in last 4-starts by posting an excellent .948 save percentage, and none of those 4-games went over the total.

The Boston Bruins Tuukka Rask hasn’t been very sharp in recent starts, but his whole body of work this season remains impressive. Rask is widely regarded to be one of the best goaltenders in the world. This will be Rask’s 18th start at home this season, and he has a stellar .923 save percentage on the year at the TD Garden in Boston.

NHL Totals Betting System
The Boston Bruins have seen each of their previous 3-games go over the total. Boston is averaging 2.6 goals per game on the season, and Detroit averages 2.9 per contest. The combination of these three factors creates a very profitable NHL totals betting system, and I’ll utilize this valuable handicapping tool when making my NHL picks for Monday.

Any home team (Boston) that’s gone over the total in 2 or more games in a row, and both teams in the contest are averaging 2.5 to 2.9 goals per game on the season, has seen the home team go under the total in 111 of those 167 (66.5%) situations since 1996. As a matter of fact, this exact situation has occurred 12 times already this season, and 11 of those 12-games went under the total.
