There are just three games in the NHL on Wednesday, which means we don’t have a lot to choose from with our daily hockey picks.

NHL Betting: Wednesday Picks

We have a full preview of the Pittsburgh-Philadelphia game, which means our multi-pick preview will focus on the NHL odds of the other two contests.

Record: 50-54 (-293)

St. Louis Blues at Colorado Avalanche

The Blues are coming off a surprising loss on Wednesday night as the San Jose Sharks ended their seven-game losing streak in St. Louis. However, there’s a good chance they bounce back on Wednesday.

The Blues will put Jaroslav Halak back in the nets for this contest and he’s a real key to this team’s success. Without him, the Blues have been giving up goals by the bunch. They’ve also lost six of 11 since he made his last start.

On the year, Halak is 3-0-0 with a 2.10 GAA. He should be able to limit an Avs team that scored just four goals in their last three home games prior to their six-goal outburst against Nashville on Monday.

The Avs have lost four of six. The Blues should rally around the return of Halak and get the win here

NHL Pick: Blues -120

Los Angeles Kings at Calgary Flames

For the second game on the board, the play that makes sense here is the under. We don’t see many Kings games these days with a total of 5.5, so we’ll look to take advantage.

Calgary is coming off a 4-0 shutout loss to Phoenix on Monday and they’ve tallied just four goals in their last four losses. Meanwhile, the Kings have played well recently, winning three of four. They’ve been buoyed by good goaltending as they haven’t allowed more than three goals in seven straight.

Even with Joey MacDonald expected in net for the Flames, I like the Kings to dictate the pace and keep this under. Take the under for one of today's NHL picks.
