Our NHL consultant has isolated three teams that he foresees as having the best NHL Odds on the money line in the last ten days of regular season action.
Buffalo Not Throwing in the Towel
In terms of pure betting value, the Buffalo Sabres will provide much of that during their remaining five games. After struggling mightily during the vast majority of their home slate, Buffalo has gone 3-0-1 in their last four played at the First Niagara Center. Buffalo’s two remaining home games are versus Toronto and Columbus, and both teams currently trail Buffalo in the NHL Eastern Conference overall standings.
The Sabres have three tough road games to close out this 2015-2016 NHL campaign. They face the Rangers, Devils, and Islanders in those contests. They’ll certainly demand lofty money line underdog prices in each of those outings. You may be surprised to know that Buffalo is a very respectable 16-17-5 on the road this season, and were a money line underdog in all 38 of those games.
Another note that’s worth mentioning, Buffalo will be playing on two days of rest when facing Columbus at home, and New Jersey on the road. You can never underestimate that specific factor, and especially so during the late stages of regular season play.
The Sabres have realistically been out of serious playoff contention over the past six weeks. However, you would never know it by the effort they’ve put forth. Buffalo has 18 points more than they earned a season ago, and still has five games left to improve further on that number.
I would not ignore Buffalo during the final stretch of regular season play when making your NHL picks.
Sharks on the Road
San Jose has unequivocally been the Western Conference’s best and most profitable road team this season. They’ve gone an outstanding 26-13 against the money line on enemy ice. Hypothetically, if you wagered $100 a game on San Jose as a road underdog this season, and also bet on them to win $100 as an away favorite, it resulted in a substantial profit of $1260.
The Sharks have two remaining road games this season versus Washington and Minnesota. Considering the quality of those opponents, NHL odds certainly will display attractive money line prices attached to San Jose. The Sharks have broken the bank on the road this season, and there’s no reason to expect any changes in that regard at this particular juncture.
Favor the Flyers
Philadelphia has made a terrific late season run which has put them in a position to make the playoffs. They’ve earned at least 1 point in fourteen of its previous seventeen games, and went 12-5 versus the money line during that period. Despite how hot they’ve been of late, I foresee very reasonable money line prices in four of Philadelphia’s remaining six games.
Philadelphia has been, and will continue to play with, a high degree of urgency when considering their playoff lives are hanging in the balance. They currently hold a slim 2 point lead over Detroit for the NHL Eastern Conference final wild card spot, and each of their remaining games will be extremely vital in respect to its postseason chances. They’ll definitely provide betting value during their final three road games versus the Penguins, Red Wings, and Islanders.
