We’ve isolated our best NHL totals betting value on tonight’s card by applying a NHL betting system to which has gone 32-8 since 1996 to the Sharks vs. Blues.

NHL Best Totals Value of the Night Sharks/Blues
The St. Louis Blues will host the San Jose Sharks on Thursday evening at 8:05 PM ET. I’ll be concentrating my efforts on uncovering the best value pertaining to the total in this game. According to the betting odds at 5Dimes, the posted total in this contest is currently 5.5.

The Skinny on San Jose
The San Jose Sharks have gone over the NHL odds total in just one of their last twelve games played on the road. As a matter of fact, Sharks games have gone over the total just 36.6% of the time this season. San Jose will be out to atone for a 7-2 home loss to St. Louis this past Saturday. The Sharks have gone under the total in 13 of 17-games this season when playing with same season revenge, and that includes 7 of 8 if their opponent scored 4-goals or more in any of those seventeen losses.

Brian Elliott returns for the Blues
The Blues #1 goaltender Brian Elliott has returned from an extended period on the injury list, and has proceeded to make an immediate impact. Since his return, Elliott has compiled an excellent .944 save percentage, a 1.67 GAA, and posted one shutout in three starts. In seventeen starts overall this season, Elliott has a terrific .933 save percentage, and has earned three shutouts. The Blues have gone over the total just once in eight home games when Elliott is their starting goaltender. Heading into tonight, the Blues have allowed only 9-goals combined over their previous five games.

NHL Totals Betting System
The Blues are coming off a 6-0 win at Arizona in their previous game. The Sharks are coming off a 4-3 overtime win at Minnesota in their last outing. The combination of those two results fits nicely into an extremely profitable betting system which I’ll use to my advantage when making my NHL picks on Thursday.

Any home team (St. Louis), coming off a win by 5-goals or more in their previous game, versus an opponent (San Jose) coming off an overtime win in their previous game, has seen that home team go under the total in 32 of those 40-games (80%) since 1996.

Free NHL Pick: Play on the Blues and Sharks to go under the total of 5.5
