We finally got an under in the Stanley Cup finals as the New York Rangers couldn’t score a single goal at home in Game 3. Can they do any better in Game 4 and contribute to an over on the NHL odds?

Game 4 Will Go Over Because…
Both teams will be scoring. The Rangers will be in desperation mode, because their season is about to come to an end. If they lay an egg in Game 4 offensively, they are cooked. That being the case, look for them to make more of their opportunities.

We know that the Kings will get at least two or three as Henrik Lundqvist has been quite easy to beat in the Stanley Cup finals. If the Rangers can do better on their power play (0-for-6 in Game 3), or just find a way through Jonathan Quick as they did in the first two games, we’ll get enough markers to at least earn a push.

Game 4 Will Go Under Because…
The Rangers score way less at home. It’s no surprise that the Rangers offense went cold at Madison Square Garden. This postseason, they are ranked second in scoring on the road with 3.08 goals per game. However, at home, the Rangers are ranked second-last with just 2.09 goals per game. Their average combined score on the road is 5.83 goals per game compared to just 4.18 at home.

Look for Lundqvist to play a bit better in Game 4, and help keep this contest low-scoring.

Outlook & Pick
The Rangers home-away splits tell us this should be another under. The Kings will likely want to finish this series off at home in Game 5, rather than on the road in Game 4. Look for their offense to take a night off and for us to see an under.
