Want to know the best NHL betting value on the total for tonight’s game between Arizona and Anaheim? We have the answer to that, and much more, including a terrific 94-46 NHL betting system.

Coyotes Invade the Duck Pond
A couple of Pacific Division clubs have at it on Sunday night when the Anaheim Ducks play host to the Arizona Coyotes. The opening puck drop at the Honda Center in Anaheim is slated for 8:05 PM ET. According to the NHL betting odds at 5Dimes, the Ducks are a -200 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.5. The puck-line at Pinnacle has the Ducks -1.5 (+145) and the Coyotes +1.5 (-160). These clubs met for the only time this season on Anaheim on November 7th, and Arizona skated away with a 3-2 win as a huge +170 money line underdog. Anaheim went a perfect 5-0 versus Arizona during the 2013-2014 NHL campaign.

Jury Still Out
Contrary to popular opinion, the Arizona Coyotes firmly believe that they can contend for a playoff spot in the very deep Western Conference. Early returns would indicate that it’s possible, but not highly probable. They’re currently 9-12 against the money line, and have gone a respectable 6-5 over their last 11-games. After starting the season by losing their first 5-games on the road, they’ve rebounded to win 5 of the last 7 on enemy ice, and during that time frame have made $100 NHL money line bettors $580. Mike Smith is listed as the probable starter in goal for Arizona tonight. Smith has really struggled to start the season, going 4-11 in 15-starts, posting a subpar .890 save percentage, and that includes a dismal 1-6 on the road. One has to wonder how long it will be before former Edmonton Oiler goaltender Devan Dubnyk begins to receive more work. Dubnyk is 5-1 in 6-starts this season, and has compiled a stellar .926 save percentage.

Attempting to Regain Dominant Home Ice Advantage
The Anaheim Ducks were terrific at home in the first half of the 2013-2014 regular season at the Honda Center, earning at least 1-point in 21 of their first 22-games at home, and losing only once in regulation time. They haven’t come close to duplicating that home ice domination in the early part of this season, and have gone a disappointing 5-5 against the money line in that role. Keeping with that theme, the Ducks started the year by winning their first 4 at home, and have since gone 1-5 in the last 6 at the Honda Center. Anaheim last played on Thursday at Vancouver, and defeated the Canucks 4-3. The win snapped a 3-games losing streak, and was only their 2nd in their last 8-games.

Final Analysis
As I alluded to, the Ducks are coming off a road win versus a division opponent in their previous game. The Coyotes are coming off a 4-3 win at San Jose last night. The combination of these two results sets up a very profitable betting system that I’ll take advantage of when making my NHL picks for today.

Any home team, coming off a road win versus a division opponent, and is facing a team coming off a road 1-goal win, has seen 94 of those 140-games (67.1%) stay under the total since 1996.
