We’ll examine today’s NHL Metropolitan Division encounter between the Capitals and Rangers, sharing our pick while disclosing a very nice NHL money line betting system.

Capitals take on Rangers at MSG
The New York Rangers will host the Washington Capitals on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden with a slated 7:05 PM ET opening faceoff. According to the NHL betting odds at BetOnline, the Rangers are a -160 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.0. This will be the first meeting of the season between these Eastern Conference teams. They split their four encounters a season ago, and none of those contests went over the total.

Two Red-Hot Teams
The Washington Capitals are coming off a 2-1 home win over the Ottawa Senators last night. The win was their 3rd in a row, and they’ve gone a stellar 7-2 in their last 9-games. Washington has allowed 2-goals or less in four of their last five contests. The Capitals have also gone a very respectable 10-7 on the road against the money line this season, and are 8-3 versus opponents from within their own Metropolitan Division.

The New York Rangers are starting to resemble the team that advanced to the 2014 NHL Stanley Cup Finals. They enter tonight having won each of their previous 6-games. They’ve done so by utilizing their strengths, solid defensive play, and excellent goaltending. During this current 6-game winning streak, the Rangers have allowed only 8-goals combined.

NHL Totals Betting System
The New York Rangers are coming off a 1-0 home win over the Carolina Hurricanes in their previous game. The win improved the Rangers money line record to 17-13 on the season. Their previous game result, and winning record for the year, formulates a successful money line betting system that I’ll use when making my NHL picks today.

Any team (Rangers) playing in the first half of the season, coming off a home win in which they shutout their opponent, and they have a winning record for the year, has seen that team go 93-29 (76.2%) against the money line during the past 5-seasons. This system has come into play 24-times already during the 2014-2015 campaign, and has gone a terrific 18-6.
